I found a few bucks, but no bulls. The last 2 pics are from a buddy.
This is a little 2 point. Not super exciting, but where there is one buck, there may be more.
If you look hard you can see his antlers, covered in velvet, and two points on each side. Antlers are different than horns, as they are shed and regrown each year. Velvet is a blood rich coating that moves the building blocks of antlers into position, and once the antlers are full grown the velvet is scaped off on bushes and trees.
This is a medium 4 point. You can see the red coloring standing out against the green. The velvet is sensitive and keeps the bucks out of the really thick brush. The deer also seem to be eating the more moisture rich vegatation during the hot months, and more of the scrubby browse in the fall.
I'm still working on zooming in without making the pictures too dark. The top 4 photos were taken at a couple miles away, and the bottom two were at 600 yards.

Great photos. I never knew that the velvet would be sensitive. Interesting. I like all those kind of details that help you know when and where to find the deer.
Beautiful pics! I had no idea about the velvet either, very interesting.
Now the velvet freaks me out. Fuzzy blood stuff that creates antlers.
I can't even begin to wrap my brain around it.
I'm with Will on the velvet. It is kind of crazy.
Nice 4 point!
